Boostec is a family run, environmentally friendly roadside Electric Vehicle charging service, operating in and around the Greater London area. We operate as an emergency roadside Electric Vehicle (EV) charging service for depleted or low EV Lithium-ion vehicle batteries.
We offer mobile electric vehicle charging for EVs when the fear of range anxiety is dispelled. We come directly to you bridging the gap with charging point provision, by fast charging your vehicle with approx. 3.5kw of power (up to 20 miles of range). Boosting takes approx. 30 minutes, with enough charge to get you to the nearest charging facility, home or work.
Our services intend to eliminate the need to recover your prized electric vehicle on a diesel gurgling, flat bed Recovery truck, when you are ‘out of juice’. We resolve ‘out of charge’ breakdown disasters by simply charging vehicles at the roadside, with our state-of-the-art innovative technology.
Our technicians are on standby, ready for deployment to your location with comprehensive and conscientious services, to boost your Electric vehicle.
WE GET YOU BOOSTED!
Boostec caters for private customers, intermediaries and companies on account or as a pay-as-you-go service. We proudly operate as an affordable, consistent and quality- oriented fast service, for all of your vehicle needs.
Our commitment to customer service and satisfaction drives us to excel, whilst providing prompt assistance and efficient vehicle services. We support and assist EV users in any situation, whether on the roadside, on-site or another location. Whatever your Electric Vehicle scenario, our quick response team can assist you with your vehicle needs in an emergency, or via planned booking.
Lithium-ion EV batteries can deplete over time causing a vehicle to be inoperable due to no charge. This happens due to a number of contributory reasons, not limited to:
-
Insufficient battery storage
Storage capacities are limited, requiring monitoring on gauges, particularly when driving long distances.
-
Battery age
Vehicle range can be reduced when batteries age and degrade, sometimes displaying incorrect range on the dashboard, due to lessened productivity, reduced capacity and efficiency.
-
Driving habit
Batteries drain quicker with frequent use of heaters, air-conditioning, lights. Inefficient driving including high speeds and rapid acceleration impacts negatively.
-
Range planning
Poor planning not considering charging station locations en-route and not using available public/private chargers timely, will maximise chances of charge being depleted.
-
Temperature
Extremities with the weather, either hot or cold weather can drain batteries faster and often affects the performance, reducing the overall efficiency. Battery optimal temperature is 20 - 25 degrees Celsius.
-
Route/Terrain
Longer routes and adverse terrain like hills, storms, snow and mountains need more energy, thus reducing range. Regenerative braking including downhill driving seldom counteracts the needs, in these cases.
EV users can ‘get can caught short’ when unplanned charging issues occur. This results in the need for urgent or emergency vehicle charging. We understand these instances and are dedicated to assist when these circumstances arise.
Vehicle users can also be coupled with other extenuating possibilities and factors when charging their EVs. The most common charging issues faced, are not limited to:
-
Limited charging stations
Insufficient, somewhat unreliable and frequently inaccessible charging station/points/hub infrastructure.
-
Charging speed
Chargers vary with power output; level 1 & level 2, with DC being the fastest, if available. If outlet is shared by other users, slower charging speeds occur. Availability of grid power can also limit a charger’s power.
-
Compatibility
EV users are limited with which chargers they can use. Different charging standards are used by different EVs – CHAdeMO, CCS and Tesla’s supercharger network.
-
Cost
Increased public charging costs, with some up by 24p/kWh from 1 year ago. Higher 20% VAT rate for public charging compared to home charging VAT rate of 5%.
-
Equipment issues
Higher demand on charging networks and poor maintenance of chargers is recorded with up to 30% of charge points out of service. Network connectivity issues are reported and some charger locations are difficult to access and some vandalised.
-
Temperature effects
Extreme temperatures cold or hot can slow down charging speeds and impact charging times, potentially reducing range and triggering safety measures, respectively.
Boostec is reliable, experienced and knowledgeable in the motor trade industry providing skilled client services for Cars, Motorcycles, Vans & 4x4s. Our company ethics, principles, customer service and technology is in-line with national (i.e. AA, RAC) vehicle recovery standards.
These standards are set and agreed, and associated with vehicle
breakdown and recovery. We work within the regulated confines of the
industry standard PAS 43 & ISO 9001. This standard is published by the
British Standards Institution and focuses on roadside recovery safety,
establishing standards to protect both workers and customers.
We have also integrated the framework of ISO 9001 into a management
scheme.
PAS 43 is the specification for the safe working of vehicle breakdown and recovery operations. The standard is sponsored by SURVIVE (safe use of roadside verges in vehicular emergencies). It helps improve the safety of our technicians and also helps improve our business’ safe working practices. Risk of accidents is reduced, minimising claims and costs, assisting in winning and retaining business.
The benefits are not limited to:
- Consistent, repeatable processes
- Proven industry standards
- Superior risk management
- Stronger legal compliance
- Customer confidence
- Staff engagement
ISO 9001 is the management system for vehicle breakdown and recovery operations that meets safety requirements.
Our point of difference and competitive advantages are:
Quality services, affordable and flexible in working unsociable hours
with complex Electric Vehicles, coupled with a ‘can do’ ‘will do’
approach.
